Ways to get involved
Join our weekly gardening sessions and one-off weekend events, or help us in your own time
Friday gardening sessions
We meet every Friday at 10:30 the Peace Garden. We'll swarm out to work at several of our gardens, depending of the tasks of that week. We always litter-pick as we go along.
Sessions last around 2 hours, but you can give as little or as much time as you want.
We will provide you with the necessary tools and safety equipment for the gardening tasks.
You need to:
bring your own gardening gloves if you can
wear sensible footwear and dress for the weather
think about bringing a hat or applying sunscreen when it's sunny
Suitable for all ages and abilities. If you're under 16 and are not with an organised group, please contact us first.
Saturday gardening sessions
Our weekend sessions and events run during the warmer months. Check the calendar for upcoming dates. We'll mostly stay at one location, and sometimes we'll have activities like sowing seeds in pots or making crafty things that you can take home.

Gardening in your own time
A lot of our volunteers help a little in their own time.
We're looking especially for people who:
help with watering
cut grass on Edward Street and help maintain the path labyrinth in the Peace Garden
help with weeding and mulching
grow seedlings for us or share your seedlings with us
